Privacy policy

No accounts, no analytics, no ad pixels, no user database. This page lists everything that touches your data. It is a short list, and it is complete.

01

What never gets collected

There is no signup, so HookProof holds no names, emails, or passwords. There are no analytics or advertising scripts, so nothing fingerprints your browser or follows you to other sites. There is no database behind the product at all.

02

The two cookies

HookProof sets exactly two cookies. Both are signed (you can see their contents in your browser’s devtools; nobody can forge them) and both are strictly necessary: they are the only memory the product has.

hp_usage
The free-tier counter. Holds how many analyses this browser has run today. Set when you use the analyzer without a plan.
hp_plan
Your paid plan. Holds the plan name, an expiry date, and your Stripe customer id. Set after Stripe checkout; deleting it removes access from this browser until you restore it from your receipt link.

There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind.

03

Scripts and voice samples

When you run an analysis, your script (and voice sample, if you added one) is sent to xAI, the model provider, to produce the one analysis or rewrite you asked for. That is the entire trip. HookProof does not store scripts or voice samples; each request is processed and nothing is kept on our side. What xAI does with submitted data is governed by xAI’s own data policies.

04

Payments

Checkout runs on Stripe. Stripe holds your card details, billing email, and invoice history under its own privacy policy; HookProof never sees or stores card numbers. The one Stripe identifier on our side is your customer id, and it lives in the hp_plan cookie in your own browser, where you can delete it.

05

Hosting and server logs

The site runs on Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel produces standard server logs: IP address, user agent, request path. They are used for operations and abuse prevention.

06

Retention

Clear your cookies and HookProof holds nothing about you. What outlives the cookies: Stripe’s payment records (invoices and receipts, the things a payment processor must keep) and routine server logs at Vercel. That is all.

07

Your choices

  • Clear the two cookies whenever you like. The free counter resets; paid access can be restored from the confirmation link on your Stripe receipt.
  • Cancel any time through “Manage billing” on the checkout confirmation page.
  • Email phil.buendia@gmail.com to ask what exists about you. For most people the honest answer is one Stripe customer record, or nothing.
08

No sale of data

HookProof does not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. There is no profile of you to sell.

09

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top moves, and material changes get a note on the site. Questions go to phil.buendia@gmail.com.
